Bill Hudson
Bill Hudson has devoted most of his adult life to working for the common good, with over twenty-five years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector. He is currently building a new consulting firm, Family Child Care Associates (FCC-Associates). The mission of FCCA is to help family child care providers and the organizations that support them achieve higher levels of success. Prior to deciding he was crazy enough to start his own company, he served as the Chief Executive Officer for the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), the only national membership/trade organization developed solely to advancing the field of family child care. In addition to supporting NAFCC members, Hudson worked to advance the larger Early Care and Education field by serving on the core task force for the Power to the Profession initiative sponsored by NAEYC. He also served on the National Birth to Age 8 Workforce committee and the Early Care and Education Innovation Collaborative, both sponsored by the National Academy of Medicine. Prior to joining NAFCC, he headed one of Pennsylvania’s largest public library systems. He currently sits on the board of the Main Street Child Development Center in Fairfax, Virginia, a NAEYC accredited nonprofit preschool which provides a high-quality program for predominately low-income families. He has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and lives in Reston, VA. When not trying to advance the field of family child care, Bill spends time reading, traveling, thinking about how to improve nonprofit boards, enjoying theater, and fighting a serious addiction to pizza.
